Map[edit]

A Frosty Reception map

The map is loosely split into two segments, the Western front with Wulfar, and the Northern flank with Errol & Orla.

Initially, the enemies in front of the Felheim Barracks will not attack. Wulfar can remove these units by first defeating the 2 soldiers, 1 dog, and 1 spearman at the South, and returning to speak with "Tóki". Otherwise, if a single allied unit crosses past the bridge, they will all automaticly become aggressive.

If any structure in the West courtyard is neutralised, or a unit moves into the back of the courtyard, or a unit enters the treasure room, Ragna will become active, opening up the Gates, enabling her South Barracks. She will begin to charge Groove, and advance on the player.

Upon obtaining the Treasure, Valder will arrive at the North-most edge of the Map, accompanied by Giants and Aeronauts. Once arrived, additional Giants and Aeronauts will spawn if they are defeated, creating an endless supply of units. At this point, the escape zones at the Port and on the West of the courtyard will become active, requiring Wulfar arrive at the Balloon, and Errol & Orla at the Barge.

Defeating Ragna, even before Valder's arrival, does not end the mission, and they will contnue to battle. However, if both Valder and Ragna are defeated, the player will automaticly win, even without visiting the escape vehicles.

Story[edit]

11th May, Stone Mountain Fort

The first heist, the Stone Mountain Fort, housing the gold reserves of Felheim. Wulfar and the Twins make their way to the fort. Valder is away on business to meet the Deepfolk, leaving only Ragna to guard the fort. This makes for a good opportunity. While the Twins sneak in to take the gold, Wulfar can easily make a diversion.

With Wulfar and the Twins leaving on their escape vehicles, Ragna gives chase, to bring them to justice. With some way to go, Errol and Orla must now try to flee Felheim before Ragna catches up.

Dialogue[edit]

Opening Cutscene
(Dreadsword defeats Ragna)

Dreadsword 1: Chatter chatter chatter?

I'm fine. It didn't even hurt.

Dreadsword 1: . . .

Dreadsword 2: Chatter?

Because I'm resting!

(Enter Valder)

Ragna...

No need to get up...

I must attend to some matters with the deepfolk. I will be back before sundown.

As the regular garrison are away, I trust you will be able to take care of the fort while I am gone?

I'm... in charge?

Indeed.

YES!!!

I'M IN CHARGE OF EVERYTHING!

You are in charge of the fort. Briefly.

If anyone tries to get in, I'll PUMMEL THEM INTO A PASTE!!

THEY'LL BE LIQUIDISED!!!

. . .

An intrusion is highly unlikely.

Oh, and Ragna - Don't go fooling about in the gold reserves again.

Qhen you disorganise the coins, it upsets the exchequer.

(Scene transition)

It's so cold! No wonder everyone who lives here is dead.

Not everyone. I read--

Da, are we there yet?

Almost.

Do youse two remember the plan?

Aye.

Mission Dialogue

Introduction Dialogue

The plan is for me and Orla to sneak into the treasure room via the northern path.

While you distract the main forces in the courtyard, Da.

And then, when we've got the gold, Orla and I will escape out the back in a boat...

...And you'll be away in a balloon from out here.

Well remembered, lad!

Hmmm, I'm low on units and there's a large Felheim troop protectin' that Barracks.

Da, who's that skeleton over there wavin' at ye?

That looks like my old friend Tóki. He might be able to lend me a hand...

I'd better go and speak to him.

Speak with Tóki (Before resucing his friend)

Good to see ye, Tóki. I need to ask ye for a favour.

Chatter.

...Ye need a favour first? ...Fine. What can I do for ye?

Chatter... Chatter chatter chatter.

So yer friend's got himself in trouble, and is locked up just south of here...

Chatter.

Aye, I can deal with that. I'll be back before ye know it.

Speak with Tóki (After resucing his friend)

Right, those bullies have been dealt wi', and yer friend is a free skelly!

Chatter chatter! Chatter chatter?

Ye see the big Felheim troop by the wall? Let's just say... that they're in ma way.

Chatter!

So yer friend's got himself in trouble, and is locked up just south of here...

Chatter.

Oh, that was yer friend? I already saved him! A fortuitous by-product of spending a few minutes cracking the skulls of our opressors' pawns!

Chatter chatter! Chatter chatter?

Ye see the big Felheim troop by the wall? Let's just say... that they're in ma way.

Chatter!

COME BACK WITH THAT GOLD OR I'LL RIP YOU TO PIECES!!!

...

Ragna, explain.

Lord Valder?! Uh... Everything is... fine.

"Fine"? Our garrison is decimated, our fortress has been raided and it seems our funds have been stolen out from under us.

And you describe this situation as... "Fine"?

... Yes? I mean, no! I mean... I'm handling it!

Perhaps you will allow me to "handle it" from here on out?

... Yes, Lord Valder.

(South Gates disappear)

I've never seen so much in one place in ma life!

I hope it's enough to get Enid back.

Me too...

Hey, what do you think Enid would make of this boat?

She'd be up in that crow's nest before you could say "anchors aweigh"!

Aye, she would!

Speaking of the crow's nest...

Aye?

I'll race ye up there.

I dinnae know if we're--

Trivia[edit]

  • The Port can be captured before obtaining the treasure to recruit Water units. However, this serves very little practical purpose.
  • While Ragna will become 'active' if the Twins' army enters the treasure room, there are small gaps on the edges of the room where allied units can stand without activating her.
  • The Treasure, escape Barge, and escape Balloon can only be activated by their corresponding Commander, and will never allow the Player to swap these roles.
  • Tóki is the only named skeleton in all of Wargroove, though several undead of other varities are named.
    • Tóki is also one of only 6 named NPCs to feature in the game, alongside Neba the Floran, Sho the Heavensong bomb maker, and the 3 outlaws Greg, Paul, and Neil.
  • This is the only official mission to feature the "Villager Extra" portrait of the undead Villager, and the only mission to feature the "Soldier 2 Sad" portrait of the undead Spearman.
