The Bell Tolls is the first mission of the Wargroove 2 campaign, taking place in the Prologue.

In this mission Pistil dispenses a band of robbers alongside some soldiers, while Lytra uses her magic to study the mysterious bell left by Cacophony.

This mission serves as an introduction to basic combat and movement mechanics, alongside the Soldier unit and Critical Hits.

Story[edit]

Memorial Isle

Philtrum, Octagon, Cylinder, and Lytra of the Faahri Armed Forces set on Aurania land. Being unfamiliar, they discuss the kinds of stories they've heard, ranging from plant-people, sea-people, and dreaded humans. Philtrum and Cylinder are quick to mock Lytra, but are soon interrupted by their commanding officer, Pistil. She requests Lytra's aid for her magical ability.

Pistil explains the history of Requiem and the technology created by the lost civilisation of Cacophony. Their allies have asked them to seek and uncover other artefacts created by Cacophony. She believes Lytra's magical abilities can help open the doorway on a giant stone bell on the island that Pistil has spent the afternoon investigating. Before they can continue, they are interrupted by robbers, and Pistil goes to dispose of them while Lytra studies the bell.

After the battle, Lytra is able to activate the giant bell, and its ringing can be heard all across Aurania. Pistil and Cylinder rush in, but the door seals behind them. Pistil decides to make Lytra their commander while Pistil is occupied in the ruins.
