Vines are a special ground unit, created by using Greenfinger's groove.
They cannot capture structures or engage in combat. However, they can surround and block enemy movement, and can be relocated through enemies.
Vines lose 20% health at the start of every turn.
Strategy[edit]

Reposition movement[edit]
Unlike other units, Vines cannot move conventionally, instead they can "Reposition", allowing them to immediately relocate to any valid tile within 2 tiles.
This movement allows vines to cross impassable terrain (e.g. walls), and go through enemy units. However, they cannot reposition onto Wall, Sea, Deep Sea, or Reef tiles.
Diminishing health[edit]
Vines will lose 20% health every turn. An unharmed vine will therefore be active for 5 turns before perishing. However, taking damage can largely reduce this duration.
If the total damage received is below 20% (e.g. Dog attack while vine is in a forest), it will not cause the vine to perish any faster than normal.
A vine can be healed by a mage, providing it an additional turn of activity, assuming it is not attacked.
Reinforcement[edit]
Unlike other units, vines cannot be reinforced or bought. The only method of healing a vine is through external healing methods, such as Mage spells, Mercia's groove And Errol's Cooling Water.
Enemy Groove charge[edit]
Like all special summonables, and unlike standard units or structures, Vines grant no Groove charge to enemy commanders from combat, both from being attacked and being destroyed.
Damage Matrix[edit]

Vines receive damage equivalent to a building, but lack a garrison, so deal no damage to enemies.
Unlike a buidling, vines can receive terrain bonuses. This includes receiving defense loss from river and shore terrain.

Trivia[edit]
- Vines are the only unit in the game to move without any movement costs.
- This lack of a Movement stat is the reason Wulfar is unable to use Groove on Vines.
