Talk:Damage Matrix
The base damage tables provided by Katzeus seem like they may be based on the "minimum damage." E.g., if the listed damage is 80, the actual damage inflicted after that in-game attack will be (roughly) 80 to 90.
The "preview damage" in-game seems to be based on a median. E.g., if you go to attack a unit and the preview damage is 85, the actual damage inflicted after that attack will be (roughly) 80 to 90.
So far on this page, all the Base Damage tables appear to be based on the minimum damage, but most of the Critical Hit Damage values have been based on median damage. This is inconsistent. I'm not sure what to do about it. If all critical hits were exactly x1.5 base damage then I could just do the math, but it doesn't appear they all follow that exact pattern, so I can't be sure I'll be putting 100% accurate numbers for critical hits using that method.
So, here's the options I see:
- Should the Base Damage be rewritten to follow the in-game preview (median values)?
- Should the Critical Tables be rewritten to use minimum values? If so, how should those minimum values be determined?
- Should the Critical Tables be removed?
I would appreciate the thoughts of anyone who happens to be interested. --Guy (talk) 19:03, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
