Story[edit]
15th September, Cradle Island
At Dragon's Cradle, Mercia and Co. discover the door already opened by the Cherryblade. Mercia retrieves her blade, and Sigrid shows herself. Sigrid is close to a weapon that could threaten the whole continent, it is time they put a stop to this. But this time, Mercia will fight alone, and avenge her father.
With Sigrid dead, the immediate threat is gone, however Valder knows there is more to this. Requiem has already been released, and it won't be long before it claims a new host, and brings ruin once more--but the seal is gone and cannot be closed. Though dangerous, Mercia rushes in to fight Requiem and protect her people, followed by her many companions who will protect her in her time of need. But what is Requiem, that lays to bring death...?
Strategy[edit]
My personal strategy for this missions was to play extreamly deffensivly with seige and naval units. I used soldiers to bock the bridges and ranged units to fire on Sigrid's units. It takes forever, but it works. Don't expect a good rank with this strategy.
Dialogue[edit]
- (Enter Mercia and company)
She had no further use for it once the door was opened.
- (Enter Sigrid)
You were fools to follow me here.
I am but steps away from Requiem... and ultimate power over Aurania.
You pathetic mortals are too weak to stop me.
So go. Run. Hide. Huddle in the darkness...
There's nothing else left for you to do.
You chase us across the continent, leaving ruin and death in your wake.
And now you're steps away from a weapon that would threaten all of Aurania!
You've done too much damage already, Sigrid... It's time somebody stopped you for good!
We're right behind you, Mercia!
I appreciate it, everyone... but I need to do this on my own.
Mercia has proven herself in battle many times. Not least in the battle against myself...
I do not doubt her abilities as a commander. She must avenge her father.
Mercia... Before we last parted I left some things unsaid.
And the weight of those unspoken words... Had you not come back...
You're like a daughter to me, Mercia.
Emeric, when Dad died... I would have been lost without you
I haven't thrown up in more than 900 years, but I really think this is going to do it.
Introduction Dialogue
I won't let you get away with all the horrible things you've done.
Hahaha... As if you have any choice in the matter.
Start of Mercia's turn 5
This is becoming tiresome. You're simply delaying the inevitable.
Hold still a moment so I can come and swat you like the troublesome gnat you are.
Gnat? You're the only bloodsucker around here. And I'm not going down that easily.
Start of Mercia's turn 10
The things I'll do with Requiem's power...
With it, I will usher in an age of blood and darkness.
Start of Mercia's turn 15
You're going to bleed, upstart Queen.
Just like your weakling father.
My father was the strongest person I've ever known.
Merica's army in front of volcano
The volcano... It's so ominous.
Hah! What's next? Will you be frightened of the trees? Or the big scary rocks? Humans.
Mercia's army approaches Sigrid's Stronghold
Oh, you think you can take down my Stronghold?
You're so misguided it's almost sweet.
Sigrid's army approaches Mercia's Stronghold
Sigrid's closed in on my Stronghold...
Sigrid last enemy standing
You kept acting like I was some big joke to you. But you're not laughing now.
I don't fear you, little queen.
Mercia last ally standing
Does the Queen of Cherrystone regret her decision to battle me?
I'm still here. I'm not done yet.
Humans: both stupid and fragile. An unfortunate combination.
Defeat Sigrid or destroy her Stronghold
Mercia is defeated
Now, finally, the world is mine!
Mercia's Stronghold is destroyed
- (Sigrid dies)
Ending this war... it didn't bring Dad back...
You have become the queen he knew you could be. The queen your people need.
My people... I won't let anything harm them ever again.
They're right! You're amazing!
I hate to break up this sentimental moment... But the door is still open.
And then throw the Cherryblade into the sea!
It is not as simple as that. Some doors, once opened, cannot be closed...
I have read of this weapon and its prison in ancient tomes.
Sigrid may be gone, but Requiem has already awoken from its long slumber.
It will find a new wielder to do its bidding. To bring ruin to us all.
We don't know what lies beyond this gate.
But we can assume it is utter ruin.
I have to try to beat it. For my people.
Trivia[edit]
- This is the only map in the game (across all modes) to feature the Volcano terrain object (not to be confused with the Volcano Biome type).
- The map terrain of the vlcano is "Air", a hidden terrain type that is visually identical to Plains, but mechanically similar to a Wall.
